Performance Comparison

The Chevrolet Silverado offers a choice of three EcoTec3® engines and likewise does the Ram 1500 with their V6 Pentastar®, 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 and 3.0-liter Ecodiesel V6. The Chevy is equipped with a 6-speed automatic where the Ram comes standard with an 8-speed automatic transmissions–both of these terrific trucks provide surprisingly good highway mileage. But when we compare the Silverado 5.3-liter V8 producing 355 horsepower/383 lb.-ft. of torque with the Ram 1500’s 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 cranking out 395 horsepower/410 lb.-ft. of torque, the clear winner is the Ram.

Interior Comparison

Yet where the Ram comes standard with a heated steering wheel, the Chevrolet has that as an option and the Silverado’s driver information cluster is much smaller at 4.2-inches in contrast to the Ram’s 7-inch multi-view cluster.
